Hamish has a background in the rural agricultural sector joining the then Stock and Station Division of Pyne Gould Guinness upon leaving St Andrews College, working as a stock agent and looking after clients in the Fairlie and Mackenzie Basin. After spending 15 years with Peter Walsh and Associates, Hamish then went farming on his own account. To commit to his new challenge selling lifestyle and rural real estate with New Zealand’s #1 rural real estate brand Bayleys, Hamish has leased his farm out.

With a reputation built on honesty, integrity and hard work, Hamish enjoyed his time as a stock agent, in particular, he has taken much pride in his auctioneering skills which have taken him to many sale yards across Canterbury plus on-farm sales and charity auctions.

Hamish has an in-depth knowledge of the farming sector and people in the South Canterbury area and is well known throughout the South Island. He enjoys dealing with people from all walks of life.

Hamish and his wife Jo have three daughters and have derived much enjoyment seeing their family mature into young adults. Leisure activities include golf, shooting, travelling and going on excursions with their campervan. Hamish is a member of the Fairlie Lions and has served on a number of business and community focused boards.

Hamish looks forward to working alongside his experienced work colleagues working out of the Bayleys Canterbury Timaru office.
