Stephen Rendall is head of the Bayleys Real Estate Advisory team and the National Director of Office Leasing. He provides strategic real estate advice and originates, structures and executes complex real estate transactions across all commercial real estate asset classes. As National Director of Office Leasing he brings together the national office leasing network, strengthening Bayleys offering to the market. Stephen focuses on large-scale national occupier requirements, capital markets transactions, projects and land development, and debt placement. He works closely with Bayleys’ global partner Knight Frank in relation to off-shore occupancy mandates and in-bound capital investment. Stephen joined Bayleys from one of New Zealand’s leading law firms, Russell McVeagh, where he was a Partner in the Real Estate and Construction team. He has advised on several of New Zealand’s most high-profile commercial real estate transactions in recent times, spanning both the private and the public sector, while regularly advising on construction and development procurement. Examples of completed transactions include the initial PSP and subsequent CPP acquisition of interests in the $1bn-plus ex-AMP portfolio; Goodman’s development of the VXV precinct; and several of Oyster Property’s recent asset purchases. Stephen’s credentials are strengthened by those of his colleagues whose enjoy specialist experience in international funds management, global property, research and valuation, and capital markets’ analysis. The commercial property market in New Zealand is becoming increasingly more sophisticated. As Bayleys’ clients are demanding a much broader deal execution capability, Stephen’s wealth of experience augments our firm’s ability to deliver on the most complex transactions in our market.
